St. Vincent Cancer Care
Linda House is currently the Executive Director of St. Vincent Cancer Care, Indianapolis where she leads a team of 170 individuals who deliver care across the cancer continuum including screening, genetic counseling, cancer clinical trials, navigation, and all modalities of therapy. While there are many facets to leading a busy community cancer center, Linda is most proud of applying a patient experience lens to their program which ensures that all patients receive excellent clinical care while giving each patient someone to walk alongside him or her during their journey.
Prior to her role at St. Vincent, Linda was proud to serve as Senior Advisor of Advocacy and Professional Relations for the Lilly Oncology Business Unit where she led the global strategy and outreach efforts for consumer organizations and professional society engagement. Other roles were those of Senior Director of Advocacy and Professional Relations for the U.S. Affiliate which included leading a team of individuals in strategy and outreach across a number of therapeutic areas, including diabetes, mental health, oncology, women’s health, cardiovascular and acute care. During her tenure at Lilly, she had the opportunity to work in roles that include Medical, Marketing, Sales, and Corporate Affairs and led the development and implementation of the company’s Oncology Patient and Professional Outreach, including patient education and Lilly Oncology on Canvas activities from 2000 to 2010.
Linda had a rich history as an oncology nurse where she had been fortunate to serve in various roles, including inpatient, outpatient, and hospice care. Included in those roles, Linda was instrumental in leading and developing a multi-specialty medical clinic. She initiated the Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) program in her facility and subsequently, multiple facilities across the state of Indiana. She has served as a writer and expert witness, and has delivered keynote and educational talks across the country. Linda also was President of L.S. House, Inc., where she worked as a consultant primarily in relation to catastrophic illness patient advocacy.
Linda received her initial nursing degree in 1984 from the University of Indianapolis. In 2005, Linda received her master’s degree in management from Wesleyan University, where she completed her course work relative to the cancer non-profit marketplace and graduated with honors.
In addition to serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, she also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Cancer Support Community of Indianapolis (past), and the Patient Advisory Board for the Cancer Patient Resource Guide, Linda is active in her community as a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tissue Bank and Indianapolis Animal Care and Control, among other volunteer work for many community events.
