At Y-ME, we have a unique view of breast cancer support.  That’s because Y-ME is the only place someone touched by breast cancer can call and speak to a breast cancer survivor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  It’s the human side of the fight against breast cancer – “the people behind the pink.”

But Y-ME does more than support patients – we connect people.  So when Hollywood producer Cookie Carosella was diagnosed with breast cancer six months ago, she reached out to friend, Y-ME Board Member, and 11-year survivor Gloria Alvarez.  She found that the support of the people behind the pink made all the difference and she wanted to share that experience.  She connected with Gloria’s son, acclaimed filmmaker Kyle Alvarez, and renowned New York City photographer James Salzano.

Soon enough, the three found themselves in Chicago, donating their time and talent to create this window to “the people behind the pink.”  This video is their way of helping provide breast cancer support today.

Our New Year’s Resolution this year is to continue to assure, through information, empowerment, and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone.  Join us in our resolution.

Thank you for watching this powerful video and donating to Y-ME this holiday season.
