Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Y-ME and its network of Affiliates provide information and support to anyone touched by breast cancer. As originally envisioned by Y-ME’s founders, all programs and services are available free-of-charge.
Peer support is the cornerstore of many of Y-ME's programs and services. Peer support is provided by breast cancer survivors who have been through Y-ME's training program. There are many benefits to peer support. It is not clinical therapy, but it does provide a connection to people who have first-hand experience managing the disease. Y-ME's peer counselors provide emotional support and discuss information in a compassionate, open and honest way. Y-ME 's peer counselors understand that each breast cancer experience is unique, and they provide individualized attention and information that is fact-based and judgment-free.
