Partner Match Program

Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization provides a unique service for those who are supporting a woman through breast cancer– the Partner's Match Program. The program provides support and education for people while they are supporting a wife, partner or other loved one through the disease.

How does the program work?

We can match you with a person who has had similar experiences as you will have being the caregiver or loved one of a survivor. Simply call the 24-hour Y-ME National Breast Cancer Hotline at 1-800-221-2141 and request to be paired with a Match Program volunteer. The peer counselor on the Hotline will take your name and phone number, and ask you a few questions in order to match you with a volunteer who can best address your concerns—someone who has been there.

You will receive a phone call from a Match Program volunteer within two business days.

How will I benefit from calling?

When a loved one is diagnosed, you may feel helpless or overwhelmed. We know it can be difficult to cope during this time and that's why Y-ME is here to help you through it. Y-ME partner’s match peer counselors understand how you’re feeling and know that talking to someone who’s been there is extremely rewarding. You don’t have to cope with this alone.

How do I become a partner’s match peer counselor?

Y-ME is always recruiting husbands, partners, friends and loved ones to become partner’s match peer counselors. If you’re interested in participating, visit our volunteer section of the Web site or apply now.
