Survivor Frequently Asked Questions

At the heart of Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is the Y-ME Hotline, the only place in the world where someone can call – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – to talk to a breast cancer survivor and be understood in 150 languages.

Y-ME Hotline peer counselors are trained and certified peer counselors who are breast cancer survivors. We don’t give medical advice – we are not medical professionals – but we are trained to handle all types of questions and concerns related to breast cancer and provide emotional support.

It's okay to ask the tough questions.  We asked these questions when we were diagnosed, and people ask these questions all the time:

Am I Getting The Right Treatment?

Am I Going To Die?

What Do I Tell My Children?

Will I Ever Be Normal Again?

What About My Hair?
